One morning in 1987 computer game fanatic David Grigsby lost his car, girlfriend, and job. Later that day, to console his sorrow, he purchased a cheap adventure game called “Deeds of Yore“ at his local software retailer. Later at home, while loading up his new game, an unfortunate mishap involving tequila caused a malfunction in his Commodore 64 and David was literally sucked into the game. Now a citizen of the Land of Yore, David must find his way in this strange sometimes frustrating 8 bit world.

In a 16th century kingdom in the Netherlands, the newly crowned King Stephan concludes a secret treaty with the Spanish. This puts him at odds with his younger brother, Prince Roland, who favors a treaty with the French. Stephan orders Roland imprisoned but Roland escapes and leads a revolt.

It is the first day of the summer vacation. Jojje, Jerker and Fabian wants to borrow a sailing boat to take a boat trip so they steal it. They plan to examine all of Lake Maelaren, but a storm breaks out and the boat sinks. They go ashore, steal food and a new boat. While everybody else believes them to be dead, they have a wonderful time. They meet a crazy Count and find a dead body.

A film director faces a complex situation in the production of his new film: Laerte, the protagonist of the story, begins to renegade her former characters, the Pirates of the Tietê. Lost in this situation and determined to be faithful to his whims after seeing the approach of death, the director decides to tell his drama mixing his persona with the story, creating a chaotic labyrinth between fiction and real life.

"Pirates of the Plain" details the adventure of Jezebel Jack, a pirate with a heart of gold that is sent to the future where he meets Bobby, a young boy with an overactive imagination.
